Pickering, ON, May 23, 2026 – Today, the City of Pickering proudly recognized the significant economic and community benefits generated through its partnership with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) during a cheque presentation at the Whitevale Spring Festival.
The City of Pickering will be hosting the Artfest event on Saturday, May 23, 2026 and Sunday, May 24, 2026.
For this event, please note the City of Pickering will be temporarily closing The Esplanade South from Valley farm Road to the Pickering Civic Complex Parking.
Region of Durham completing urgent maintenance hole (MH) repair in the intersection of Brock Road and Bayly Street in Pickering.
The applicants are proposing a residential condominium development consisting of 51 three-story stacked townhouse units.
The applicant is proposing a two-storey addition to the existing Bessada Kia dealership, along with a reconfigured surfaced parking area to accommodate the storage and display of vehicles. The addition is intended to support the dealership’s new electric vehicle division.
The City of Pickering will be installing temporary traffic controls including, establishing a pick-up and drop-off zone on a portion of Breezy Drive fronting Bruce Handscomb Memorial Park and placing parking restrictions on one side of Elvira Court.
The splash pad at the Liverpool Waterfront is currently closed due to a plumbing issue. Repair
work is underway, and the splash pad is expected to be reopened on, or before, Friday, May 22nd, weather
permitting.
