  • Service Disruption at Pickering Civic Complex Council Chamber

    Construction for the Council Chamber Renovation will commence on August 11, 2025 and will 
    continue until April 11, 2026. During this time, the Council Chamber will be closed.

  • Extended Swim & Splash Pad Hours During Extreme Heat

    To help residents stay cool and safe during periods of extreme heat, the City of Pickering is introducing extended hours for select amenities during designated heat warnings. 

    Updated Operational Hours – Effective July 29, 2025

    Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex – Public Swim
    During designated heat warnings:
    • Monday to Friday: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
    • Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

    Splash Pads – All Locations
    Open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm:
    • Amberlea Park
    • Beachfront Park & Millennium Square
    • Foxtail Green

    These extended hours will remain in effect during active heat warnings issued by the Region of Durham.

  • Beverley Morgan Park Turf Replacement

    2025The Beverley Morgan Park Artificial Turf Replacement project is underway, with construction beginning on Monday June 23, 2025 and continuing until Friday August 29, 2025 (subject to weather conditions).

  • Notice of Construction from The Town of Ajax - Church Street Bridge Closure

    June 13, 2025 - The Town of Ajax is undertaking its Church Street Bridge Rehabilitation project, which may affect traffic flow and routes for residents in neighbouring communities, including Pickering. The Church Street Bridge (Bridge 18) over Duffins Creek, located 60 meters North of Highway 401, was constructed in 1960. The roadway bridge is now in need of maintenance and repair, as indicated by lifecycle and condition assessments.

  • Notice of Temporary Road Closure Seventh Concession Road Wilson Bridge Replacement

    Seventh Concession Road will be temporarily closed, from Sideline 28 to Sideline 32, as well as North Road from Seventh Concession Road to Hwy. 7 to facilitate the replacement of Wilson Bridge, west of North Road.

  • Dunmoore Park Temporary Closure

    The large section of Dunmoore Park will be temporarily closed for turf maintenance Thursday, May 15, 2025 until Thursday, June 5, 2025 the gates will be locked, the smaller portion of the park will still be accessible for use.

  • Usman Park Temporary Closure

    The turf area beside the playground at Usman Park will be temporarily closed for maintenance and a temporary fence put in place, the playground beside this area will remain unaffected and open for use. From Thursday, May 15, 2025 until approximately Thursday, June 5, 2025.
