Notice of Temporary Closures- Civic Parking Lot (Full Closure) and The Esplanade South (Intermittent Closures)

The Pickering Civic Complex Parking Lot located on The Esplanade South will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, September 2, 2025 to Friday, November 7, 2025. 

The Esplanade South will be intermittently closed during this time period to facilitate the work.

Purpose: Asphalt Resurfacing and Municipal Parking Lot Replacement

Duration: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 to Friday, November 7, 2025

The City of Pickering’s contractor, IPAC Paving Limited, will be undertaking The Esplanade South Asphalt Resurfacing & Municipal Parking Lot Replacement (Tender No. T2025-9).

Municipal Parking Lot Replacement – work will include pavement replacement, partial concrete curb and sidewalk replacements, lighting upgrades and line painting. 

The Esplanade South – work will include concrete curb and sidewalk repairs where required, maintenance hole and catch basin adjustments, complete asphalt replacement and installation of a mid-block pedestrian crossover.

The parking lot will remain closed for the entire duration of construction, while The Esplanade South will be closed intermittently to facilitate the work. On-street parking on The Esplanade South will also be prohibited for the duration of the project.

Parking is temporarily available at The Shops at Pickering City Centre, directly west of the Pickering Civic Complex (highlighted in yellow on location map).
